I'm very excited and happy to say that I've been engaged to sing Sea Drift, the Delius superpiece, in a concert in December. The concert, on December 6th, will be given by the University of the West of England choir and orchestra. The concert has a theme (to tie in with Bristol's 2015 status as European Green Capital) of This Green and Pleasant Land.
Sea Drift is a setting of a poem by Walt Whitman - one of my favourite poets - which tells of two mockingbirds nesting on the seashore. An apparently odd subject, but a deeply moving poem. I'm going to record the words soon and post the result on this site.
